St. Ferdinand is committed to developing young people in accordance with the Gospel message. Scouting is one tool that helps develop children using fun activities to learn their duty to God, their duty to country, and their duty to themselves. St. Ferdinand has been an institutional sponsor of a Girl Scout troop, Boy Scout troop, and Cub Scout pack.
St. Ferdinand is the sponsor of an active troop of the Girl Scouts of America. Girl Scouting is open to all young ladies from kindergarten through high school. In Girl Scouts, a girl can try new things, develop a range of skills, take on leadership roles, and just be themselves. The program features numerous activities ranging from S.T.E.M. activities to outdoor adventures that are designed to help girls develop as leaders.

Scouts BSA Troop 829 is a chartered unit of Boy Scouts of America sponsored by St. Ferdinand Parish. The scouting program is geared toward children ages 10 to 17. The troop is focused on the training and advancement of children toward the rank of Eagle Scout through outdoor skills, hobbies, and possible career interests found in the requirements and badges of the scouting program. Outdoor skills include camping, hiking, fishing, navigation, first aid, woodcraft, and wilderness survival.

Cub Scout Pack 939 is a family pack chartered by Boy Scouts of America sponsored by St. Ferdinand service boys and girls from Kindergarten through 5th grade.. The purpose of Cub Scouting, and eventually Scouts BSA, is character development, citizenship training, leadership, and mental and physical fitness. Cub Scout program features and rank advancement prepare cub scouts for Scouts BSA and instill duty to self, duty to others, and duty to God through various activities and learned skills such as camping, hiking, service, games, and field trips.
