Ministries for Mass

The Liturgy is the heartbeat of our parish.  It is the center to which we are drawn from various individual lives into community, sharing as a parish family. The Liturgy Committee advises, plans, and coordinates the liturgical ministries in the parish to facilitate the full, conscious, and active participation of the assembly.

The mission of the Lector Ministry is to proclaim the Scripture at Mass.   Those participating in this ministry are motivated by the desire to proclaim the Word of God so that people listen and understand. Lectors help bring Christ into the midst of the assembly by reading the Word of God.

Assist the priests and deacons with the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass

Ushers help parishioners in any way they can at Mass, whether it is to find a seat or assist the elderly or someone who is ill, and take up the collection.

Boys & girls, in grades 5 through 12, serve Mass and other liturgies on a rotating schedule

Hospitality members welcome those attending weekend Masses and assist with handing out bulletins following Mass

Offeratory Gift Bearers bring forward the gifts of bread and wine from the back of church and presents them to the priest. Typically one or two people present, but families are also welcome. Please let one of the ushers know if you are willing to assist. 

Assists with proclaiming and explaining the Sunday Liturgy of the Word for Children is a program in which the Sunday Gospel is proclaimed and explained on a level appropriate to children in Preschool through First Grade - no registration is necessary. Adults who wish to share their faith with the children are needed as catechists; training is provided. The Children's Liturgy of the Word is on the first and third Sundays of the month at 9:00 a.m. Mass.

Duties include watering and maintaining all the flowers/plants, dusting/polishing/cleaning, launder/iron and repair of altar and server linens, cleaning the holy water fonts, and maintaining all candles.
